Arcsecond partners gathered at INRIM in Turin on 15 and 16 June 2026 to launch the project. Around 18 participants attended in person, with others joining remotely.

The meeting marked the start of the consortium’s work toward the future optical redefinition of the second and provided an opportunity to discuss the project’s scientific objectives, work package activities and coordination plans.

The consortium will meet every nine months, alternating between virtual and in-person meetings. The next meetings are planned in Kielce, Poland, hosted by GUM, and in Paris, France, hosted by OBSPARIS.
